From The Morning

A day once dawned, and it was beautiful
A day once dawned from the ground
Then the night she fell
And the air was beautiful
The night she fell all around.

So look see the days
The endless coloured ways
And go play the game that you learnt
From the morning.

And now we rise
And we are everywhere
And now we rise from the ground
And see she flies
And she is everywhere
See she flies all around

So look see the sights
The endless summer nights
And go play the game that you learnt
From the morning.

- Nick Drake

I ran, it rained, and all things are bright and beautiful again!

xpqNow wakes the hour
Now sleeps the swan
Behold the dream
The dream is gone.
Green fields are calling
It's falling, in a golden door.

And deep beneath the ground,
The early morning sounds
And I go down.
Sleepy time, and I lie,
With my love by my side,
And she's breathing low.

And I rise, like a bird,
In the haze, when the first rays
Touch the sky.

And the night wings die.

A cloud of eiderdown draws around me softening the sound... sleepy times when I lie, with my love by my side, and she's breathing low... and the candle dies...

Lucky Mumbaikars to have Waters (it rained in Delhi too) although this one's a song he'll never meddle with in a show perhaps!

lovely. I adore Nick Drake. Given his tragic life, his songs always strike me as music one should kill themselves to, if one ever did want to kill themselves to music...
